COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
AND TEACHER GRANT
AWARDS


Spring


The Foundation awards college scholarships to a number of graduating BCHS seniors at the end of each school year, through an application process conducted by the Foundation's Scholarship Committee with assistance from the BCHS Guidance Center.

The Foundation awards grants to selected BCHS teachers at the end of each school year, so that they may better meet the educational needs of their students in the following academic year. Grants are awarded based on merit and available funds.

Summer


The Foundation holds a Teachers Appreciation Breakfast at the beginning of each school year to honor and express our appreciation to the teachers, the administration, and the custodial staff as they embark on a new school year.

NEW 2015 MEMBERS


Mrs. Jane Gregory



Coach Robert (Bob) Montgomery


At the 14th. Annual Educator Hall of Fame Gala held on February 5, 2015, the Foundation inducted Mrs. Jane Gregory and Coach Robert (Bob) Montgomery into the Educator Hall of Fame.




Mrs. Jane Gregory began teaching at Brookland-Cayce High School in 1973. She spent her entire career of more than 34 years as a mathematics teacher. Mrs. Gregory sponsored the Math Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta from 1983 to 2003. The teaching awards and recognitions she received include the Faculty Service Award in 1984, Presidential Scholar in 1985, Teacher of the Year in 1996-97, and Time Warner Cable Star Teacher of the Year in 2003. Mrs. Gregory and her husband Phillip live in West Columbia, and have one son, David Gregory.








Coach Robert (Bob) Montgomery began his career at Brookland-Cayce High School in 1968. He taught sociology, coached track, and was Assistant Football Coach under Coach Bettis Herlong. A few years later he became Head Coach and Athletic Director, and coached the Bearcat football team to a regional title in 1971. He continues to have the most victories of any football coach in Brookland-Cayceís history. In addition to coaching and teaching at BC, Coach Montgomery also served on the Lexington School District Two Board of Trustees for 12 years. Coach Montgomery and his wife Carol live in Newberry.

The Foundation welcomes Mrs. Jennifer Broughton, Mr. Teddy Calcina, Mr. Brad Giles, Ms. Joanie Hess, Mr. Ryan Van Omen, Mr. Bryant Shaffer, and Mrs. Melanie Thornton, who have been elected as new Members of the Board of Directors.

The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the contributions of Mr. Fred Carter, Mrs. Erin Fitzgerald, Mr. Frank Rogers, Mr. Wade Sellers, Mr. Dan Shull, Mrs. Joy Hook Smith, and Mr. Jerod Summer, who have completed their service as Board Members.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The Foundation serves businesses and individuals who wish to present a scholarship to a graduating senior at Brookland-Cayce High School by administering funds, selecting recipients, and presenting awards.    More

TEACHER GRANTS & RECOGNITION
The Foundation awards Grants to teachers so that they may better meet the educational needs of their students, and provides an annual Teacher Recognition Brunch to honor all BCHS faculty members.   More

WINGMAN PROGRAMS
The Wingman Program and the Junior Wingman Program are mentoring programs for Brookland-Cayce High School students who need extra support in their lives.   More
